Easter Collections There will be no change to any collections over the Easter period.
Landfill Operations For those taking items to the landfills in the Great Lakes, Greater Taree City & Gloucester Shire Council areas, please note all landfills will be closed on Good Friday only with normal operating hours on all other days.

MRF Opening
The official opening of the regional Materials Recovery Facility was conducted today. Whilst the plaque was unveiled by Mayors Jan McWilliams, Paul Hogan and Geoff Slack, young Sophie Smyth, winner of the Mascot Competition, did the honours and cut the official 'recycled paper' ribbon. Holiday Collections
The only change being made to collections during the holiday period is to those scheduled for a Friday pickup on Christmas Day. The service will still happen on the Friday but the drivers will be commencing their runs from midnight. They'll be creeping around as quietly as possible and hopefully get home in time to share Christmas with their families. So please insure your bin is out on Thursday night for the regular Friday collection, and all other days will be collected as normal.

From all the staff in Gloucester, Greater Taree City & Great Lakes Councils, as well as us here at JR Richards & Sons, we take the opportunity to wish all residents a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. All bins have been rolled out, the new collection vehicles are performing well, and the recycling processing facility is just starting to process product, over three months ahead of schedule. It's a big ask introducing a new system and settling it down just before Christmas, and the upcoming holiday season will no doubt throw up a new set of challenges, but all Councils and Richards are working together to provide the best services possible and to ensure all waste, recyclables and garden organics are collected efficiently. We hope all residents and visitors enjoy the holiday period and if you are unsure of any aspect of the new services then please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Information Centre on 1300 290 763.
